ONE BIG FAMILY...THE PARTY!

We organized a Christmas party to celebrate their recovery and liberation as well as thank God for his blessings. The party was organised by the hospital team and also supported by the 'Help Wihtout Boundaries' Foundation. The event took place on the 22nd December 2018, at the Federal Neuro Psychiatric hospital in Calabar, graced by the head of clinical operations Dr Ekpe, the consultant psychiatrist in charge of their case Dr Oluntoki, Oberiko Progress other doctors, nurses, social workers, guests and other patients in the hospital. You can imagine the feeling of extreme joy Ben and his family had as they celebrated Christmas. TRAGIC STORY OF HOW MOM, DAD AND SON DIED 9DAYS AFTER EACH OTHER!!!

MY ADEKUNLE SILVER!!! Making this write up has been very difficult for me. I can recall his post on the 29th of December 2018, in fact just last month here o, he posted and expressed an overwhelming sadness about the death of his beloved mother just before the year came to a halt. On the 8th of this month January 2019, he made another heart breaking post about the demise of his dad who died four days after his Mom’s burial, as he couldn’t stand the loss of his wife.   One of the proudest things I’ve done in my life is resigning from a toxic work environment. I once worked with this Start-up organization, where the CEO was a real bossy boss.  He was walking in his “CEO shoes” every day of his life, he was so obsessed with achieving his dream for his org that he cared less about his employees!  We would use our personal emails and our personal mobile number to reach out to clients.  I remember suggesting that a work phone should be provided for me because the clients were beginning to encroach on my personal space, but I was told off and tagged a complainer.   Days ago I watched the news where I heard this journalist giving a report about Afghanistan. Just before videos of the Afghans were shown, my attention was drawn to the news report because of how the journalist told the story; I was eager to see the videos. In her news broadcast, she reported that the people in Afghanistan were in “abject poverty”, “at the brink of famine", and that “there was almost no hope for them” amongst other harrowing languages that she used in describing the situation. One of the things she said that caught my attention was that Afghans were literally “selling their children just to be able to buy food”. This got me. And at this point, I felt very compassionate for the Afghans, “Oh poor Afghanistan” I said to myself.
