MY FIRST STREET CARNIVAL

Carnival took place in the Main Street of the roadway in Calabar...Little wonder its tagged “Calabar Street Carnival”.

The first group of people I saw on the carnival ground was the FARMERS BAND dressed in local materials, shabbily designed with cuts made by scissors plus Fulani hats to shield their heads from the scorching sun. They also depicted their band with unique artistic sculptures.

Another amazing band with a super duper sculpture was MASTA BLAST, these group made great sculptures which I lack words to depict right now. I swear you have no idea, they made a moving train, firewood, and so many thrilling art designs too complex to describe.

Each band had a tall and beautiful king and queen dancing in front leading the band. Bunch of carefully selected well packaged Godgifted ladies in each band, like rose flowers with a touch of hibiscuses so colorful like mami water.

They all dance along the road as they express their various dance steps in different ways, some through their waist, steps and even in the way they smile and twist their necks simultaneously with their waist, their every dance step depicts Africanism!

You can see the veracity of my assertions glaring in the pictures herewith. Or better still, try attending this years Carnival.

But unfortunately, as beautiful and interesting as the carnival even was, attracting celebrities and great personalities both internationally and locally, it’ll shock you that it doesn’t interest the residents of Cross River state to attend.
Such is life
You don’t value what you have until you lose it.
Okay! Enough of the talk now, I’m gonna be doing more of pictures from the carnival.

But you don’t wanna miss the INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL...Many countries from various parts of the world converged in Calabar. You’ll see USA, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland, etc and some of the dancers actually danced naked!
Wanna see pictures???

Wait for the gist... Next Episode...
